Backstory

Writing something strange and urgent...

My first stories and their accompanying illustrations were written using crayon in my hometown of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Sometime between participating in Hands Across America and discovering my love of punchlines, I found myself developing and performing comedic sketches in high school talent shows that eventually led to a BFA in acting from Kent State University, where my one-act plays were produced.

I continued crafting fiction and stage work while living in Burbank, California, before settling in metro Atlanta. I earned a master’s degree in project management, worked in law firms, and spent thirteen years teaching English for Fulton County Schools.

My work spans literary fiction, poetry, audio dramas, stage plays, and sundry pet projects. My young adult novel Writing on the Wall was published by Immortality Press, and my plays continue to be produced onstage today. My short stories, poetry, and plays have appeared in a variety of literary magazines, most recently SLAB, River Styx, and Abandoned Mine.

These days, I’m usually holed up in my home office or Chipotle, writing something strange and urgent that insists on making its way to the page.
